We’d like to share some examples of projects that are helping our clients succeed – and that are successfully building the reputation of Acosys as a company that offers timely delivery of services within allocated budgets.


Information Technology

EDS Canada

Acosys provided business analysis services for a process improvement initiative. Working with a global team in Canada, the U.S. and India, Acosys analyzed an EDS Claims System to document Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and assisted EDS evaluate, from a business perspective, future implementation. From the SOA model, coders will be able to clearly understand what business services need to be coded, helping to reduce the evaluation and development cycles. Currently, Acosys has built a series of Unified Modelling Language (UML) documents to describe the current view of the EDS Claims system from a business perspective.

Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte

Acosys provided one-stop service to the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte in a project to build a series of sixplexes for band housing. Our analysts carried out a project feasibility study that included an assessment of construction options (contracting out, self-construction and joint ventures); analyzed the current IT status of the band construction office and recommended system improvements.

Métis National Council (MNC)

Acosys developed a Métis Health Careers Portal for use in implementing the Métis Health Human Resources Initiative. For this contract, Acosys was responsible for the coding and integration of the portal to a research portal as well as an on-line scholarship application system. Acosys documented university programs and developed content about health career profiles and high school requirements to enter post-secondary health programs. Acosys assessed MNC’s needs and developed these needs into a Business Requirements Document/System Requirements Specifications Document (BRD/SRS). This document was given to the vendor and the content writer to use as a basis for developing the portal. At the request of MNC, Acosys also created a development and project plan for the release approach for the portal design. In addition, Acosys performed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with MNC to validate the quality of the content and functionality of the portal.

Canada Post Corporation

Acosys provides business analysis services for Canada Post’s Postal Transformation project. This project is Canada Post’s largest project since the institution of the Postal Code. Canada Post is upgrading its current mail processing equipment to the latest state of the art technology including its IT infrastructure and transforming its current business model at a national level. This process involves working with Canada Post Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and vendors, such as Accenture and Innovapost, to analyze Canada Post’s current and future operations. Acosys is also responsible for analyzing Canada Post’s mail equipment specifications, vendor RFPs, process documentation, and more, to evaluate future mode of operations for business perspective and future implementations. In addition, Acosys has currently built a series of high-level business requirements documents (BRDs) for engineering cost estimations. In the near future, Acosys will be building detailed BRDs (based on the high level BRDs) for operational process development and user acceptance testing for Canada Post.


Human Resources

Innovation RH Inc.

Acosys, as a sub-contractor of Innovation RH Inc., developed an outreach recruitment strategy for the Bank of Canada. The short term objective was to adopt a more proactive approach to recruitment since the labour pool is changing. The tactical plan included a review of the current internal recruitment practices and tools available, employee consultations at all levels took place; creation of partnerships with community organizations with pre-determined criteria; and recommendations with timeline for implementation. The strategy included current recruitment practices from other organizations; business case for the outreach recruitment strategy; key success factors were identified and methods of work were adapted. A research and identification of specialized magazines/newspapers was conducted for advertisement purposes. Acosys also developed interview tools to assist managers.

Whiteduck Resources Inc.

Acosys, as a sub-Contractor of Whiteduck Resources Inc., has won a standing offer with the Public Service Commission of Canada to provide bilingual Behavior Based Structured Reference Checks. The reference checks are conducted for three or four categories of referee. It consists of asking a series of questions in regards to various competencies such as values and ethics, strategic thinking, engagement – people, organizations, partners and management excellence. After the interviews are completed, a report is written and submitted to the Assessment Centre. This report is a tool created to assist managers to make the best decision to fill a vacant position.

Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC)

Our consultant offered policy advice and support to NWAC’s Board of Directors in relation to employment, labour market and skills development issues. We have also completed a series of policy and position papers and acted as a facilitator for NWAC in the past.
